Central Examination Office for State Teaching Exams (ZPLA)

The Central Examination Office for State Teaching Exams is an inter-faculty institution of the Universität Hamburg and is responsible for all aspects of examination administration for teaching subjects in the BA/MA structure. Among its duties are the administration of exam results, the regulation of inter-faculty questions related to exam organization as well as questions about what can be studied and in which period of time. More information about the ZPLA's responsibilities can be accessed here.

For a teaching degree which concludes with a state teaching exam as well as the 2nd state exam following preparatory service, the Teaching Exam Office of the State Institute for Teacher Training and School Development of Hamburg is responsible.

For questions about exam organization and the accreditation of academic work, the decentralized exam committees and/or their representatives are responsible. You can find the right contact person here. You can find further information in the FAQs.

Information about the transition to master's programs for teaching exam candidates can be found under News as well as in the FAQs.

For questions about the structure of teaching degree subjects, please go to the Center for Teacher Training Hamburg (ZLH). Please note that neither the ZPLA nore the ZLH offers academic advising services. You can find these at the Center for Academic Advising and Psychological Counselling (ZSPB). This provides special group advising for teaching degree candidates or prospective teaching degree students.. For questions about admissions, please contact the Services for Students (SfS, formerly Student Services).
