Upon selecting any course a short course description will appear with
an option to register directly. Places will be allocated according to
the order of registration.

Who can join?
Our program seeks German and international
students as well as doctoral candidates enrolled at UHH and Universität
Hamburg alumni.
You are registered, but cannot come?
Please
cancel in advance! If you miss any event, course, or seminar without
prior cancellation, you will be blocked automatically from registration
to all current semester courses. Since the number of applicants always
exceeds that of spaces available, it would be unfair to proceed
otherwise.
Note: PIASTA's Welcome and Culture program is being organized by committed University fellows during their free time. We invest a lot of heart, time, and energy to offer events, courses, and seminars hoping to provide insight and fun. Due to the program's volunteer character, demand generally exceeds the number of classes and seminars we can realize. As a consequence, not all applicants can participate.
Fees and payment: please pre-register for events with the Welcome and Culture Program. Subsequently, you will receive an email certifying your pre-registration and stating the payment deadline. You must visit our office at Rothenbaumchaussee 36 to pay and complete your registration. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) covers 75% of the costs for enrolled degree and postgraduate participants. Fees vary:
Cancellation: If you cannot participate in a course/seminar you have selected, please cancel your pre-registration via: piastaveranstaltungen@uni-hamburg.de. You cannot cancel your registration after completion of payment! Paid fees cannot be reimbursed! Also, please make sure to arrive punctual for appointments! Fees for missed events cannot be reimbursed; tours, shows, etc. start on time and latecomers may not be admitted.
Limitation: Each participant may attend a maximum of four events/ IT classes offered by the Welcome and Culture Program per semester!
Exception: the above rules do not apply to events during our International Welcome Week.
Please register directly for work shops and classes in the training und coaching programs. Theses offerings are for free.

Upon completing your registration you will receive our weekly newsletter
containing the calendar with current course offerings and events in
international affairs. You can unsubscribe the newsletter via email.
Data protection: We will use the provided data for
organizational purposes only. (e.g. sending the newsletter, etc.) Your
data will not be distributed to any third party.
Please notify us at least five days prior to any date, i.e. seven days prior to any activities outside of Hamburg, if you are unable to attend! Cancellations on short notice prevent us from moving up applicants from the waiting list, thus creating vacancies. Please assist us in avoiding this! If you fail to adhere to the cancellation rules, you will be excluded automatically from any of our offerings you have already registered for. Furthermore, you will be blocked from any future registration!
