Sushi, origami, haiku: Japanese treasures

Sushi, a combination of rice and raw fish, is a popular Japanese dish. Initially a way to conserve sweet-water fish, sushi has also become popular on this side of the globe. Origami is the art of creating two and three-dimensional objects from paper. According to a Japanese legend, the gods will fulfill a single wish of anyone who folds 1,000 cranes. Haiku is a traditional Japanese verse form employed the world over. The haiku is considered the shortest verse form and is generally concerned with the natural world.
