The sweet far-away

Have you ever tasted Portuguese cookie cake, Bavarian ambrosia cream, African date cookies, Russian pascha or Italian zuccotto? Countries, cultures and cuisine simply go together. Food can awaken memory and longing. If you’re homesick, eating a dessert your grandma used to make can be a great comfort. And sometimes it helps to try something new! An exotic Columbian “arroz con leche” or Indian milk pastries can also awaken interest in other cultures – and maybe even inspire wanderlust! Do these delicacies really exist? Who knows?
