Are you studying for a BA or MA degree at the University of Hamburg and do you know what’s what at university and in your degree programme? Have you been enrolled at the University of Hamburg for at least two semesters and do you know about the initial difficulties and worries of students and how they can be overcome? Are you interculturally interested, and would like to work in a team? Would you like to help other students get started at university and accompany them during their course of study? If you have answered the above questions with “Yes!”, you can apply as a tutor at PIASTA: You will need excellent knowledge of the degree programmes offered by your faculty and you will have to be able to make contact easily. You should also be cooperative, sensitive, independent and show initiative. We will give you further training concerning the special social conditions for international students (legal issues, student jobs, accommodation). You will find current job advertisements here.

In addition to the traditional language courses, many international students would like to practice and apply their German in contact with other students from the University of Hamburg. At the same time, many German students would like to practice their foreign languages with international students. Join in!

Is there something you are good at that you could teach others? Do you have a special hobby or interest you would like to share? There are many different possibilities to get involved in PIASTA – please get in touch with us!

Pursuing your own project and gaining experience during an internship is also possible at PIASTA under certain conditions. It is important that the projects are held during the semester and that they are planned on time – the deadlines are November for the summer semester and June for the winter semester. We are afraid that shorter full-time internships are not possible.
