ROV's are remotely controlled underwater vehicles which are connected via cable and fibre with the control unit on a ship. These vehicles are highly manoeuvrable and are applied with different camera systems and environmental sensors. They can be used for visual inspections of underwater environments and for taking samples if equipped with manipulators or sampling devices.
