Research interests

My research interests encompass the ecological role of horse mackerel in the North Sea, specifically the diet composition and feeding behaviour, the determination of energy content as input for bioenergetic models, and consumption estimates by stomach evacuation and bioenergetic models. I am thereby attempting to estimate the predatory impact of the horse mackerel on the ichthyo- and zooplankton community in the North Sea and potential causes of the recent increase in horse mackerel stock size.
