Research interests

My current research addresses the dynamics of phytoplankton and its life history. In my PhD project, I investigate the life cycle of phytoplankton key species in order
to study the dynamics on seasonal and interannual time scales. In particular, I develop life cycle models for dinoflagellates and diatoms to investigate climate- related shifts
in the composition of spring blooms and sudden outbreaks of (harmful) algae.
I am working in Inga Hense's research group Advancement of Coupled Climate Ocean Ecosystem Models.
