Research interests |
| My research interests focus on the interactions between fish population dynamics and ecosystem changes at biotic and abiotic levels. Especially the growth of juvenile and adult fish, selective mortality and adaptation to changing conditions lay in the centre of my attention. I applied otolith microstructure analysis to study growth and survival patterns of juvenile Baltic Sprat (Sprattus Sprattus) and otolith macrostructure analysis to link growth rates of adult Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) to temperature in the North Sea. Currently I am working in the FACTS project to quantify and qualify the effects of forage fish availability on growth, condition and reproductive potential of whiting (Merlangius merlangus) in the North Sea ecosystem. |
