• According to a decision of the Fakultätsrat (dated May 02, 2012), for enrolment in Anglistik/ Amerikanistik you do not need the TOEFL-test or a similar test any more. (information subject to a final legal examination)
  
  
• From winter term 2012/ 13 onwards, a new Master in literary and cultural studies "British and American Cultures: Texts and Media" and a new Master in linguistics “English as a world language” (“ENGAGE”) will replace the current Master "Anglistik/ Amerikanistik".
  
  
• The new Master "British and American Cultures: Texts and Media" will focus on literature, culture and media and is aimed at students with a BA in Anglistik/ Amerikanistik or similar studies. Information events will take place on May 16, 2012 and on June 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Phil 1269. (Information events)
  
  
• The new Master "ENGAGE" will focus on English varieties around the world from a sociolinguistic perspective and is aimed at students with a BA in Anglistik/ Amerikanistik or similar courses of study. Information events will be on June 6, 2012 and on June 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., in Phil 564.

  Dear prospective Master students
  

  From winter term 2012/ 13 onwards, the new Masters programmes will be introduced at the Institut für Anglistik und Amerikanistik. For technical reasons, however, enrolment procedures could not yet be adjusted to the needs of the enrolment procedures of the new Master studies programmes. This signifies for your application that you please apply for the old Master programme (MA Anglistik/ Amerikanistik) in the first phase of application. With successful application, you are given the choice to enrol for one of the two new Master studies programmes.
  
  

• The University Players’ next production will be Recent Tragic Events by Craig Wright.
  Shows will be at the Audimax, University of Hamburg, in June 2012 or later on in August 2012 at the International I of the Sweet Venues in Edinburgh. Please refer to the poster of the production or to the homepage of the University Players for the dates and time of the shows.
  
  
• From September 06.-09., 2012, there will be a conference on „Narrating spaces, reading urbanity”, dealing with the formation and representation of urban space and individual and the urban identity in art. Further information can be obtained on the webpages of the conference.
