• ... was founded in September 1986. The idea behind this new research centre was to establish a venue for interdisciplinary exchange for all those involved in research activities in multilingualism and language contact at the University of Hamburg.
  

• ... regularly organises lectures, talks, and colloquia as well as activities for a broader public audience related to multilingualism and language contact.
  

• ... will be re-launched by the end of the summer semester 2011. A meeting for all members will then be held (June 22nd, 2011, 5 p.m., lecture hall G, VMP 6), at which the research centre will be formally re-established and a new speaker will be elected. Moreover, the members will make decisions regarding future centre activities and organisational considerations for the semesters to come.

• ... is interested in attracting new members, especially younger colleagues at the University of Hamburg interested in finding a meeting place and an audience for scientific exchange in the fields of HAMZES described above.
