Marine Geoscience
International master course

This course is an international cooperation. Involved institutions are the University of Kopenhagen (IGG, Department of Geography and Geology), the Geological Survey of Greenland and Denmark (GEUS), the Alfred-Wegener Institute for Polar- and Marine Research (AWI), the University of Aarhus (Department of Earth Sciences), and the University of Hamburg (GPI, Department of Earth Sciences, Geology).

The purpose of this course is to provide knowledge about sea floor processes, marine transport processes in shallow and deep water, marine environment, georadar in coastal zones, climate links, palaeoceanography and practical experience in selected marine research methods.

The course takes place once a year in early summer (April/May/June). Course localities are the Skalling Laboratory in Ho, west Denmark, and the AWI research station on Sylt, northern Germany. The course language is english.
