The new course program is here! In addition to Faculty 5's philological course offerings, Universität Hamburg offers language courses on campus to students from all faculties:
Subject-based and interdisciplinary language courses (English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish) with achievement points for several majors and minors, electives, General Career Skills (ABK), technical language certificates and additional qualifications. The language center is an interdisciplinary, academic institution at Universität Hamburg. Qualified instructors (native speakers with university degrees) teach foreign languages in small groups on the basis of university teaching principles. More...
General Languages: For English, French, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Chinese and Latin language courses are offered by the Hamburg VHS in cooperation with the Universität Hamburg (Uni-VHS language courses), which provide targeted instruction in general language skills from levels A1 to C1, as well as prepare students for international language certificates such as the entry level exam of the University Language Center (FSZ), and which conclude with internal, accredited university exams: the "Kleines Latinum", the "Latinum" (Latin exams) and French for Historians. Students can acquire achievement points in accordance with the ECTS for all courses which have been successfully completed and graded.
