Two clusters of excellence at Universität Hamburg!

Die Universität Hamburg has convinced twice in the Excellence Initiative of the federal and state government: The German Research Foundation(Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG) will continue to fund the climate excellence cluster Integrated Climate System Analysis and Prediction (CliSAP) for five more years. The Hamburg Centre for Ultrafast Imaging (CUI), a new physics and chemistry research cluster that focuses on the real-time observation of atomic motions.

Since 2007 the name KlimaCampus epitomizes our successful climate research network in greater Hamburg. Scientists at eighteen institutes of Universität Hamburg cooperate with renowned partners such as the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht and the German Climate Computing Centre (Deutsches Klimarechenzentrum, DKRZ).

Cluster of excellence CUI

The Hamburg Centre for Ultrafast Imaging (CUI) is an interdisciplinary research cluster that has been implemented as part of the Excellence Initiative of the federal and state governments. This network - made up of physicists and chemists at the University, DESY, the Max Planck Society, and the Center for Free-Electron Laser Research (CFEL) - covers Greater Hamburg.
