Focus of scientific work

Evaluation of agronomic and ecological implications of new plant varieties and agricultural measures in the context of the agricultural system. The principal focus is on production, net income and biodiversity impacts. A further subject is the effect of land use patterns on biodiversity in agricultural landscapes.
The general objective is to compare and develop concepts for the sustainable use of biological resources. These concepts may comprise structural, social and technical (high and low tech) solutions.
