As well as technical support for their services (OLAT, Commsy, Adobe Connect), MICHeL offers regular workshops for university instructors and students on the eLearning platform OLAT and the communication software Adobe Connect.

The media center in the Faculty of Education, Psychology and Human Movement provides workshops for students and teaching staff on basic and advanced know-how in multi-media and video production. Workshops are free for members of the Faculties of Education, Psychology and Human Movement and Economics and Social Sciences. Every semester, the Regional Computer Center at the University of Hamburg provides a spectrum of courses and training programs especially targeting students, as well as employees and registered auditing students. Courses cover PC basics, an introduction to various software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) as well as programming.

The Center for University and Continuing Education at the University of Hamburg focuses on the theoretical development of university didactics, teaching and studying with digital media as well as the development and implementation of continuing study opportunities for University instructors at the University of Hamburg. With the continuing education program "Master of Higher Education" and the program "BASIS Qualifikation", the Center provides university instructors an intensive continuing education program concerned with teaching and studying with digital media. In workshops and training programs, the MMlab in the MMKH provide practical instruction in using digital media at the University. The workshops offered by the finkenau academy primarily target members of Hamburg's six public universities. If places are vacant, external parties will also be admitted.

The multi-media lab in MMKH produces audio-visual documentaries of lectures, instruction and interactive films (Flash) and audio-visual podcasts for Hamburg's universities and puts these on the podcast portal 'Podcampus' run by the MMlab. MMlab also provides advising, training and support in a professionally-equipped production lab to create digital study material.
