Content
A cooperation agreement signed in March 2005 by Kiel University and Universität Hamburg has made it possible for students to attend courses and sit exams at both institutions. Please note: the completed registration form (for Universität Hamburg) and the application for cross-registered students (for Kiel University) must be submitted to the appropriate office at the latest four weeks after the lecture period has commenced. Students receive a copy of the registration form to prove their status.
Breadth
- Participation in courses and exams at the one or other university make it possible for students to supplement their academic focus. Students may attend individual courses which complete or deepen studies at the "home" university. It is not possible, however, to pursue subjects in their entirety or complete phases of study at the "host" university.
- Course attendance in programs with admission restrictions is only possible if spaces are available.
Students can assume that programs with stringent admission restrictions, such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, psychology and the
Diplom program in biology will not be able to offer course placements for mandatory courses.
Registering
Students who would like to attend courses within the framework of the cooperation agreement must cross-register with Kiel University or register with Universität Hamburg as cooperating students.
Application documents must include a list of courses you wish to attend and permission by the responsible faculty member.
Insurance
According to the state accident insurance companies, students attending a host university within the framework of the cooperation agreement are insured in case of accident. This also covers travel to and from the respective institution.
