Hamburger Teaching Prize

The following can be recommended:

• faculty members who have made outstanding and innovative contributions to teaching or
  
• outstanding individual courses taught by several faculty members
  

Recommendations must be justified and include a detailed description of teaching accomplishments to be awarded.

The Vereinbarung über die jährliche Vergabe eines Hamburger Lehrpreises (PDF) (agreement regulating annual teaching prize conditions) provides tips about award criteria, of which as many as possible should be met. Recommendations should be between two and three pages and include this  cover page (PDF) .

All students are welcome to submit recommendations in their school.

Based on the criteria in the teaching prize agreement, recommendations will be reviewed by internal school juries (each comprising the vice dean for studies and teaching, two members of the school council for that school's faculty and two student reps). These juries will then nominate a candidate or team of candidates.

Following formal review by the Presidium, the nominations will then be submitted to the Office of Science and Research. The awards ceremony, to which the recommending students are, of course, invited, are scheduled to take place in July 2013.
