Always add 3 mm to the target size!

If your target end format is, e.g. DIN A6 (= 105 x148 mm) there must be a 3 mm bleed. This will increase your document to 111 x 154 mm. (3 mm per trimmed page = a total addition of  6 mm in height and width).

The bleed is indispensable for creating a cutting tolerance. It usually disappears from completeley from the end product. Background images or extensive elements that are to reach the flyer's edge must be moved into the 3 mm bleed to guarantee a clean cutting edge in the prospective flyer.

Moerover, it is important that text and crucial information be placed at least 2 mm apart from the original or interior edge. Otherwise they might be cut off! In general, any text located too close to the edge is rather unappealing.

300 dpi

For an optimum print result your data must come with a resolution of at least 300 dpi (dots per inch). Most pixel graphics applications offer these settings (e.g. Adobe Photoshop) under the menu item "picture size."

If your file contains less picture information, e.g. merely 72 dpi (internet graphics), the image quality will decrease significantly. You must select the correct program setting before sketching your master. Picture files incorporated via a vector drawing program or layout program (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, InDesign or Quark Xpress) must be high resolution.

jpg, TIFF, pdf, etc...

Please only send closed file formats, e.g. jpg or TIFF. These formats have embedded fonts, so problems due to missing font styles will be avoided. Jpg format files must be of maximum quality.

If you send us data from vector programs, such as Freehand, Illustrator or CorelDraw, please convert all fonts via "convert selection to path." Otherwise, we cannot trace the fonts and queries will eat up time!

In case you deliver pdfs, please make sure that all fonts are included and all images are created in CMYK mode. Also, do not set any crop or register marks in your pdf. We need clean files with 3 mm bleeds.

1. Print request: Please complete the order form, mark field 1 and send your request to the Print Service.
   
2. Offer: The Print service will send you an offer including the costs of your print order; field 2 will be marked.
   
3. Print cost release: Intra-department release requires the signature of the authorized signatory.
   
4. Placing an order: Sign the order form, mark field 3 and send it to the Print Service.
   
5. Order confirmation: The Print Service will send you a confirmation, field 4 will be marked.
