Osteosarkompatienten aus Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz wurden prospektiv randomisiert einer neoadjuvanten Chemotherapie mit Doxorubicin, hochdosiertem Methotrexat und Ifosfamid iv/Cisplatin ia vs. iv zugeführt (Patienten ohne Risikofaktoren erhielten kein Ifosfamid und wurden nicht randomisiert). Die Chemotherapie erwies sich mit einer 3-Jahre metastasenfreien Überlebenswahrscheinlichkeit von 80% als sehr effektiv. Die ia- vs. iv-Gabe von Cisplatin erbrachte keinen Vorteil.
