THE  Company DOCTOR

also supports you!

The post of company doctor as we know it today was born on December 12, 1973 by a Social Democratic government under the hands of the "midwife"  Arbeitssicherheitsgesetz (ASiG or Employment Safety Law). The ASiG states that employers must hire company doctors and experts to ensure occupational health and safety and support employers in establishing both safety and accident prevention measures.

The company doctor's responsibilities are set forth in § 3 of the Employment Safety Law. Company doctors have four areas of responsibility:

  1. Consulting - on all questions of health in the workplace
  2. Examining - to diagnose and prevent work-related illness
  3. Observing - to determine whether health and safety measures are effective, e.g. by touring the worksite
  4. Informing- about health and accident risks as well as appropriate protection

The University company doctors' practices are located on campus in the Grindel quarter.
