An "Eppendorf Weekend" is held annually at UKE, above all for former students (accredited as a training course at the Training Academy of the General Medical Council Hamburg). The Society of Friends and Supporters of Physics at Universität Hamburg, founded in 2000, is a not-for-profit organization with the aim of furthering physics and, above all, the training of physicists at Universität Hamburg.
As part of its program, the Society awards prizes to students for outstanding examination results. Via excursions, colloquia and social events, the Society aims to establish and maintain contact with former students and to forge a relationship between physics at the University and the general public.
